Qt Creator 2.8.1 Stable - 3.0.0 RC 1 FreewareQt Creator is a cross-platform utility that works through an integrated development environment (IDE) for helping developers create applications for desktop and mobile device platforms. Although it comes packed with a multitude of dedicated parameters, it sports a clean and straightforward interface that gives users the possibility to set up a new project by using the step-by-step approach, which comes in handy especially for rookies as they are offered assistance throughout the entire process. Qt Creator features several tools designed to help you customize the layout of the programs that you are creating and a built-in text editor that offers support for C++ and QML programming languages, syntax highlighting, as well as code completion and code syntax checking options.  What’s more, the program lets you build, run, and deploy QT applications for desktop environments and mobile devices, use the debugging mode for analyzing the state of applications (it integrates several debuggers, such as GNU Symbolic Debugger, Microsoft Console Debugger, and JavaScript), as well as design installation packages that can be published on different application stores and channels. When it comes to configuring the settings of a new project, you can select the type of the utility that you want to create (Qt Quick or HTML5 or Qt widgets), set the programming language, use a version control system, as well as design separate versions of the project files. Developing QT Quick applications and widget-based utilities can be done with two integrated visual editors (Qt Quick Designer and Qt Designer). Qt Creator comes packed with several tools for helping you write and edit code easier, as you can use the incremental and advanced search function, perform code refactoring operations in order to find and rename symbols, as well as configure the source code editor in terms of font, color, and indentation. Plus, the program comprises the Valgrind code analysis tool that enables users to identify possible errors and memory leaks, various build systems (qmake and CMake), command-line operations, keyboard shortcuts, and external tools. All in all, Qt Creator proves to be a reliable utility and one of the most powerful IDE for application developers. It provides a complete suite of tools and a straightforward layout that meet the requirements of rookies and professionals alike.
Qt Creator was developed to be a cross-platform integrated development environment (IDE) tailored to the needs of Qt developers. Qt Creator runs on Windows, Linux/X11 and Mac OS X desktop operating systems, and allows developers to create applications for multiple desktop and mobile device platforms. It provides: · C++ and JavaScript code editor · Integrated UI designer · Project and build management tools · gdb and CDB debuggers · Version control · Simulator for mobile UIs · Support for desktop and mobile targets
Here are some key features of “Qt Creator”:
  • Sophisticated Code Editor:
  • Qt Creator´s advanced code editor provides support for editing C++ and QML (JavaScript), context-sensitive help, code completion, nativation and more .
  • Version Control :
  • Qt Creator integrates with most popular version control systems, including Git, Subversion, Perforce, CVS and Mercurial.
  • Integrated UI Designers:
  • Qt Creator provides two integrated visual editors: Qt Designer for building UIs from Qt widgets, and Qt Quick Designer* for developing animated UIs with the QML language
  • Project & Build Management :
  • Whether you import an existing project or create one from scratch, Qt Creator generates all the necessary files. Support for cross-qmake and CMake is included.
  • Desktop & Mobile Targets:
  • Qt Creator provides support for building and running Qt applications for desktops and mobile devices. Build settings allow you to quickly switch between build targets.
  • Qt Simulator:
  • Available as part of the Nokia Qt SDK, the Qt Simulator to test Qt application for mobile devices in an environment similar to that of the target device.
What’s New
  • Improved Android support: Aside from many bug fixes, we added support for the new deployment mechanism available in Qt 5.2. This was described in more detail in a separate blog post.
  • Experimental support for iOS: Qt 5.2 comes with full support for iOS, and Qt Creator 3.0 adds experimental support for building, deploying and running Qt applications on the iOS simulator and iOS devices. (Experimental means that you have to turn on this feature in Help > About Plugins > Device Support > iOS.)
  • Experimental support for ‘bare metal’ devices: Also experimental is support for ‘bare metal’ devices, meaning that Qt Creator only requires a gdb-compatible debugger running on it. Many thanks to Tim Sander for this contribution!
  • For C++, ”Optimize For Loop” and ”Extract Constant as Function Parameter” refactoring actions have been added, and you can now specify special preprocessor directives for the internal code model for individual files (see the little ‘#’ button next to the line number inform…
